After a night in Menonite Filadelfia in the North of Paraguay (“Chaco”) y was ready to continue. It might be interesting to document the interaction of the Menonites with the indigenous groups, but this time it was just tourism. And there isn’t much to see, the Menonites here aren’t looking traditional, they are rather modern and very organized cattle raisers – big business.
So I went to cross the border to Bolivia under again – pouring rain… The road is Ok until Mariscal Estigmata (I guess that’s not the exact spelling) and then there are a vicious potholes every now and then. The last stretch leading Southwest is new and delicious, though. Come the border and suprise - a dirt track appears
Welcome to Bolivia! But only for some 60 kilometers, then there is a new road which in probably about 2 years should link with the Paraguayan road at the border.
Villamontes is ok, they are exploiting natural gas nearby. In town a huge market hall is ubder construction.
